A society cannot develop if its women are not part of the equation. Many women in India, particularly in the rural and economic underclass, face the scourge of gender discrimination, the heavy chains of financial dependence, domestic violence, and woeful levels of education. We at the Ishwapura Welfare Foundation believes that when you empower a woman, you empower a whole family and community.
Women in underserved communities are faced with social, economic, and educational obstacles. Our initiatives target those barriers and focus on many areas. Each of these areas contributes to a woman’s ability to achieve independence and a level of self-sufficiency that allows her to live without limitations.
Our Initiatives for Women Empowerment
Women’s Empowerment through Skill Development and Employment Training – We offer sewing, crafts, computer skills, and business training to help women become self-sufficient.
We establish self-help groups, led by women, that provide small loans to initiate businesses.
Health and hygiene awareness: We enlighten women concerning maternal health, menstrual hygiene, and nutrition.
We conduct awareness sessions on the laws concerning women’s rights, domestic violence, and gender equality to help women in the community know their rights and stand up for themselves.
